AIR SYSTEM
PROTECTION
An air filter that looks relatively clean may actually be too
restrictive. Likewise, a filter that appears to be dirty, may still have thousands of miles or hours of useful life.
Since it is impossible to determine the true condition of an air filter by visual inspection, Baldwin recommends the use of an
air restriction gauge, which more accurately measures
acceptable restriction levels. Before disposing of an old air filter, inspect it carefully for problems that may need correcting.
• Black, powdery coating may indicate the air intake is
located too close to the engine exhaust.
• Dirt on the clean side of the filter element may indicate a dust leak due to the filter not sealing properly or a split in the filter media.
• Rust on the filter’s metal parts may indicate that
water is being drawn in with the air. Check the location of the intake and make sure water-venting ports in the induction system are clean and free of obstructions.

FUEL SYSTEM
PROTECTION
Since water is potentially the most harmful contaminant in your fuel system, Baldwin Filters developed a line of heavy-duty fuel/water separators that are both rugged and reliable.
Baldwin’s fuel/water separators incorporate a heavy-duty, onepiece housing and other design features that eliminate the risk of failure associated with designs that use plastic bowls.
The DAHL®/Baldwin line of products provides additional protection to diesel fuel systems. DAHL fuel filter/water separators remove virtually 100% of the water and solid contaminants from your fuel system. The key to providing such efficient removal of contamination is DAHL’s patented depressurizer cone and the design of the dual-chamber 3-stage fuel filter/water separator.
Clean fuel provided by a DAHL diesel fuel filter/water separator eliminates nearly all of the engine problems caused by water and solid contaminants in diesel fuel. In addition, you can expect:
• Longer Injection System
Component Life
• Full Power Performance
• Lower Element
Replacement Cost

LUBE SYSTEM
PROTECTION
Clean oil is critical for equipment to operate in the toughest conditions. With the demand for extended oil drain intervals, Baldwin has developed the High Velocity Dual-Flow and Severe Service® filters to provide maximum filtration to meet today’s equipment demands.
High Velocity Dual-Flow spin-on design is superior to standard full-flow / by-pass designs in that a larger portion of the flow travels through the high efficiency element, removing more small contaminants.
Severe Service filters feature glue beads around the filter media for additional strength.
Baldwin engineers have been researching the effects of extended oil drain intervals for more than 30 years and agree that extended oil drain intervals should be approached with caution.
While extended intervals may save money in the short run, it is important to remember that improperly managed oil change intervals can lead to accelerated engine wear and costly engine rebuilds. Regularly scheduled oil analysis should be used to help determine your equipment’s service interval.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM PROTECTION
Improving system fluid cleanliness levels, providing better cold start performance and meeting service interval expectations are the primary objectives in the design of Baldwin hydraulic filters. To accomplish these goals, Baldwin Filters utilizes multiple types of filtration media:
• Cellulose Media: — The original and most common media is made of natural fibers. These twisted fibers are larger and more irregular than synthetic fibers – creating more resistance to flow or pressure drop.
• Synthetic Media: — These man-made glass fibers are very uniform in size and shape – creating the least possible resistance to flow and providing improved efficiency to protect sensitive controls.
• Blended Media : — A blend of cellulose and synthetic fibers provides improved efficiency, along with increased dirt-holding capacity.

DAHL FUEL / WATER SEPERATORS
Our DAHL / Baldwin line of products provides additional protection to diesel fuel systems. DAHL diesel fuel filter /water seprators will remove virtually 100% of the water and solid contaminants from your fuel system.
The key to providing such efficient removal of contaminants is DAHL's patented depressuriser cone and the design of the duel-chamber 3-stage fuel filter/water separator.Since most of the solid contaminants are separated by the depressuriser cone, the filter element can last up to 40,000 miles under normal conditions.
The DAHL system is easily installed and can replace all other primary filters and water separators on your truck - since it both filters and separates. The innovative design of the T-Bolt handle makes serving the DAHL fuel/water separators relatively easy. With DAHL products, there is less mechanical resistance because of the streamlined flow path and the baffle system is designed to stop emulsification and disperse trapped air - making DAHL fuel filter/water separators the best choice in protecting your fuel system's componenets.
